Helped out in the Alpha lunch for the better part of the morning and afternoon. Initially I thought it was just an hour or so but apparently it was a half day affair. Not that it was a chore to stay back longer. In fact, it was pretty fun. At least now I know the hospitality industry will be a welcoming place to work in. No kidding. xD
But then again, I've always have a thing for serving restaurant-style. I remember insisting the coaches carry the karate boards like waiters in a Chinese dinner. To actually do it action today? Fun stuff! :D So yes, I served drinks, cleared plates, served dessert and refilled cups and glasses. Then there's the bonus of free food/lunch that accompanies the serving part. It's been a while since I ate kuih-muih and joy of joys, they had those today for the lunch. Managed to satisfy that particular craving. Also, I found out that mixing cordial orange and tea creates a drink which tastes a lot like lemon tea. A little mishap turned into a culinary discovery. Or at least, to my thinking that is.
One thing that I took home today? It is always a joy to serve and the company makes it even more worthwhile. I'm loving the fact that I decided to stay back a year. Imagine all the experience I would miss out on if I had flew off this year. Indeed, God has His own plans for me and as it is, some things did turn out for the better. For that, I am always thankful. :)
